Position Overview:

  • This full-time role as an Electrical Engineering Technician will deliver essential technical support to the RAS Engineering (TENR) division.
  • The position entails providing professional and confidential services across a diverse range of project designs, schematics, communications, and related documentation.
  • Technical services will be executed in accordance with established policies, processes, and practices, specifically to support Control Center (CC) or Substation operations related to Remedial Action Schemes (RAS) Engineering.
  • The Electrical Engineering Technician will offer expertise to project managers and engineering staff in executing projects, aiding field maintenance teams, and engaging in various engineering activities.
  • Moreover, this role will involve assisting in the drafting and development of RAS Engineering design tasks, which may encompass creating RAS equipment schematics, WECC reports, Logic Diagrams, and defining, documenting, and recommending specifications for equipment and materials. The technician will also support the assessment of new equipment, which may include developing new catalog IDs, material requests, and stocking levels, as well as drafting and recommending templates, standards, and guidelines.
  • The responsibilities may also include preparing as-built drawings related to capital and expense projects completed on the transmission system. While the primary work location will be in Vancouver, WA, occasional travel to project sites within the service area may be required.

Qualifications:

Education & Experience:

  • A Bachelor's degree in engineering technology, mathematics, computer science, or a related discipline is preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience is required, with or without an applicable bachelor's degree.
  • Experience should reflect related work in a technical or engineering setting, demonstrating increasing knowledge and responsibility.

Essential Technical Skills & Experience:

  • Proficiency in CAD software is required.

Desirable Skills & Experience:

  • Experience working within a project team environment.
  • Familiarity with MicroStation CAD software.
  • Experience with ProjectWise.
