The primary purpose of this job will be to assist the commercial business by providing technical expertise on technical issues and providing hypercare technical support on commercial skylight quotes and sales. This position will also be responsible for developing and maintaining all market technical documentation to support commercial sales.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Product technical subject matter expert supporting the commercial quoting and sales of skylights. Support will include hypercare where technical input, responses and solutions are time sensitive.
  • Provide product installation, application and market insight support.
  • Point of contact for reporting of commercial product technical support issues and communicating solutions to the markets.
  • Provide technical documentation for new commercial product launches.
  • Coordinate with Development and quality teams in reporting and resolving commercial product technical complaints.
  • Coordinate product updates for VELUX commercial quoting systems.
  • Provide assistance as needed for pre and post sales technical support for engineered systems.
  • Provide product warranty correspondence for commercial projects as requested.
  • Provide controls support for VMS systems installation.
Secondary Responsibilities:
  • Calculate structural load calculations for engineered skylight systems.
  • Provide daylighting calculations for commercial skylight systems.
  • Architectural specifications creations and updates.
  • Responsible for technical product documentation creations, deletions, and updates.
  • Coordinate new commercial product launch service issues reporting and resolution with Product Development and Technical Service.
Work Schedule: This is a hybrid position based out of our Greenwood, SC office.

Starting Monthly Salary: $7930 - $9915 compensation is based on the skills and experience of the candidate.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering required, with the following being preferred: Three to five years of structural or mechanical engineering; Structural engineering design or calculation experience; Professional Engineer (PE); or Experience in domes or commercial structural skylights.
  • Exhibits self-drive and is able to operate without direct supervision.
  • Ability to read specifications and interpret blueprints.
  • Ability to create professional working relationships with sales representatives, specifiers, customers, etc.
  • Effective communication skills, both oral and written, are a must.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite is required. Experience with SAP preferred.
  • Ability to stay informed of current industry trends and share as applicable with internal Velux team.
  • Excellent decision making and problem-solving skills.
  • Must possess good planning, prioritizing, and goal setting skills.
  • Must present a positive and professional appearance and image.
  • Ability to perform the essential functions assigned to the position.
