The Production Equipment Specialist plays a crucial role in the fabrication of products by managing and maintaining machinery and processes that ensure exceptional customer satisfaction. This entry-level role is dedicated to Production Equipment Specialists. Responsibilities also include enhancing departmental safety, quality, and efficiency while providing support to the Facilitator as needed.

This role requires knowledge and adherence to all specific compliance matters, including safety, quality, environmental, and company policies. Participation in continuous improvement initiatives is expected, along with collaboration with maintenance to complete scheduled preventative maintenance tasks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Comply with all safety protocols in the workplace.
  • Maintain cleanliness by following established housekeeping standards.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in using all gauges within the work area.
  • Understand tolerances and adjust machine settings to remain within specifications.
  • Utilize quality management tools such as SPC and OEE.
  • Efficiently operate at least one machine in the department (85% efficiency or higher).
  • Execute setup procedures (changeovers) promptly and accurately.
  • Troubleshoot machinery, including automated systems, controls, and sensors.
  • Assist the maintenance team with preventative maintenance tasks and contribute to updating maintenance schedules.
  • Conduct routine inspections of equipment and products, completing necessary documentation.
  • Perform minor repairs on equipment and provide feedback to maintenance and supervisory staff as needed.
  • Notify supervisors or department managers regarding processes or equipment that require attention.
  • Recommend and engage in continuous improvement projects aimed at enhancing processes, productivity, and quality, particularly those related to corrective actions.
  • Complete additional tasks as assigned by management, including working alternate shifts as necessary.
  • Adhere to 5S principles within the department.

Qualifications

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.
  • Able to interpret technical documentation, including schematics and operational manuals.
  • Proficient in using standard inspection and testing equipment.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities are required.

Education and Experience

  • A High School diploma or GED is required.
  • Technical Certification in Mechanical, Electrical, or Automation fields is preferred.
  • 1-2 years of experience in maintenance, mechanical, or technical roles at Milwaukee Tool or a comparable organization is desirable.
