Responsibilities Job Summary The Therapy Services Supervisor is a leader within the Therapy Services department that is responsible and accountable for clinical program development/implementation, staff development, and daily patient care delivery for the department. Assesses the effectiveness of and compliance to departmental policies, procedures and protocols of clinical and support staff. Balances workload demands with appropriate staff scheduling, while working within departmental budget and productivity goals. Provides direct patient care and must interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his/her age-specific needs and to provide the care needed as described in the department's policies and procedures. Supervises and develops assigned staff. Creates a work environment that results in high employee satisfaction. Interviews and recommends staff for hire. Initiates changes in classification, salary, promotion, demotion, transfer, and termination. Administers performance appraisals and establishes development plans for each staff member. Supports and facilitates staff involvement in programs and committees. Settles employee issues, counsels employees and administers appropriate disciplinary action as needed. Responsible for approval and submission of time cards, and enforcement of and adherence to HR policies. Functions independently as a staff therapist. Maintains all aspects of medical record management as defined by the setting, keeps current in treatment techniques and is a clinical resource to staff. Maintains personal productivity standards. Supervises the day-to-day operations of department, clinic and service line, including staffing, requisition, maintenance, and inventory of clinic equipment and supplies. Plans, establishes and revises work assignments and schedules. Uses evidence-based knowledge in decision making to improve and maintain high-quality cost-effective patient care. Responsible for meeting monthly, quarterly, and annual operational budget goals; productivity goals and assists Director in developing annual capital budget requests. Flexes staff accordingly to meet patient work-load and budget requirements. Assists Director in achieving department growth and/or program development goals. Plans, independently and in conjunction with the other staff, the clinical and leadership development of clinical programs utilizing evidence-based practice where applicable. Participates in the development, implementation, evaluation, and revision of unit-specific programs, Daily Management System, electronic documentation, patient education, and orientation of new employees. Develops and monitors the implementation of new projects. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications Education Bachelor's Degree in a therapy discipline (PT, OT) or Master’s degree (SLP) from an accredited university. Required Experience clinical experience Required Licenses and Certifications Current Arizona state PT, OT or SLP license that is in good standing, prior to starting employment Required Basic Life Support (BLS) Required
