Location: Lake Mary, FL (Hybrid: Thursdays until June 5, then Wednesdays and Thursdays)
Shift: Standard 9 AM - 5 PM. Weekend work may be required during year-end.
Duration: 8.5+ Months
Job Description:
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure accurate and timely submission of State and Local Tax registrations for both regulated and non-regulated companies.
- Collaborate with third-party providers to manage account setups and ensure synchronization between our system and the provider.
- Manage state and local tax accounts, including registrations, updates, and closures.
- Review internal tax control reports related to payroll processing.
- Address inquiries from tax agencies regarding state and local withholding registrations.
- Perform data analysis, account maintenance, and tax reconciliations.
Must-Have Skills:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with keen attention to detail.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across various levels of the organization.
- Proficiency in working independently and as part of a team.
- Bachelor's degree.
- Minimum of three years of relevant experience with multi-state and local taxes.
- Experience working with state and local tax jurisdictions for account updates.
- Familiarity with third-party tax applications such as ADP.
- Experience with HRMS and Payroll systems, with knowledge of PeopleSoft and/or Workday preferred.
- Intermediate Excel skills.
Desired Skills:
- Understanding of end-to-end Payroll processes and their integration with Payroll Tax processes.
- Ability to manage multiple functions simultaneously.
- Flexibility in scheduling to meet processing demands.
- Strong sense of urgency, proactive approach, and focus on results.
- Certification such as CPP or FPC is a plus.
Education/Certifications:
- Bachelor's degree required.
Note: This role will initially require hybrid work on Thursdays until June 5, 2024, after which it will transition to a hybrid schedule of Wednesdays and Thursdays.
