GHD has an immediate opportunity available for a Senior Engagement Practitioner to join our Advisory practice.

The primary role of the Senior Engagement Practitioner is to collaborate with GHD's technical teams to deliver best-in-class community engagement with and for our clients. This position will work with senior team members and contribute to growing GHD's brand in the market and help develop new service offerings aligned to GHD's Future Communities strategy. The Engagement Practitioner will lead engagement activities to engage communities and stakeholders. This position must have a strong understanding of digital tools that can analyze and translate collated data into insights and outcomes. The position can be based in most GHD office locations throughout the US and Canada. GHD supports a hybrid work model.

In this diverse role you will:
  • Develop and lead engagement activities via various methods, including facilitated workshops in person and virtually.
  • Strong workshop facilitation skills for external and internal stakeholders.
  • Understanding of digital dashboards and tools used for qualitative data analysis and be able to extract meaningful insights and produce reports.
  • Develop and maintain contemporary technical approaches and solutions to support the pursuit and delivery of projects.
  • Drive and continue to grow the capability of our technical people to deliver with clients.
  • Task-manage and be accountable in concert with Project Managers, Project Directors, Design Leads and Team Members as required.
What will you bring to the team?
  • Minimum of 5-10 years' experience within the field of communication and engagement or social research.
  • Certificate of Public Participation from the International Association of Public Participation, or ability gain certification.
  • Postgraduate qualifications Planning, Communications, Social Inquiry, Arts (Comms), or related Social Sciences.
  • Strong facilitation skills particularly with managing community workshops.
  • Experience with digital engagement tools including virtual rooms, mural board, surveys and story maps.
  • Excellent technical and non-technical written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to prepare high quality reports, proposals and marketing information.
  • Experience working in the consulting industry and in multi-disciplinary team environments and managing a portfolio of work.
  • A known profile in relevant industries through presentations, thought leadership pieces and an online presence is desirable.
  • High level client relationship management skills including experience in business development activities leading to positive outcomes and tangible outcomes.
