Qualified candidates will possess a minimum of 5 years of experience working on Transportation projects in South Carolina.

The Position:

We are looking for a Transportation Engineer with experience in Roadway Design to supervise the design and plan development for transportation projects. The position has the the flexibility to allow for either advancement into Project Management or a Technical Lead position within the company. Typical duties will include design and drafting of roadway construction plans, supervision of junior engineering staff, and QA/QC of plans and construction specifications. Field reviews and project site inspections may also be required. This position will be assigned to our Charleston, SC Team, but the opportunity exists to work on projects managed at any of our AMT office locations.

Qualifications

    • BS in Civil Engineering
    • Licensed Professional Engineer
    • Minimum of 5 years of Roadway Design experience
    • Experience with plan production and calculation of quantities
    • Broad plan experience with TMP, Drainage, Pavement Marking, and Signing is a plus
    • Ability to supervise others and assist with project management tasks
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Technical proficiency must be exhibited in most MicroStation / GEOPAK / Corridor Modeling / ORD platforms
    • In addition to the basic requirements above, the ideal candidate should be technically sound, enjoy mentoring junior level staff, and have a passion for outstanding client service.
