About the Opportunity:

RS&H is seeking a skilled Roadway Engineering Associate II to join our Transportation Practice in our North Charleston, SC office. As a key member of our team, you will assist in various design-related assignments, analysis, and field duties on transportation projects for state and local governments in South Carolina.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the development of construction plans, right of way plans, cost estimates, bid documents, and quantity takeoffs under the direction of licensed civil engineers.
  • Perform duties in a field setting, including active construction sites, and travel as needed.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality projects.

Requirements:

  • Minimum B.S. in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.
  • Minimum 3 years of civil engineering experience.
  • Coursework or experience in transportation, geometric design of highways, traffic engineering, construction cost estimating, land development, construction management, hydraulics, hydrology, stormwater management, geotechnical, and civil engineering materials.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office software.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, Microstation, Geopak, ArcGIS, HCS, SYNCHRO, and Primavera software.
  • Certification as an Engineer-in-Training by successful completion of the fundamentals of engineering exam.
  • Previous internship or employment experience related to the position.
