Job Overview

North County Serenity House, A Program of HealthRIGHT 360 was founded in 1966 to provide substance use disorder services in the community. North County Serenity House provides a gender-responsive and trauma-informed environment, using evidence-based and best practices that recognize and account for the role that trauma frequently plays in substance use and criminal histories of women. For clients with co-occurring mental illness, we provide integrated substance use and mental health services which treat both conditions as primary. Our residential facility serves up to 120 women (with capacity for up to 20 children under 5 years of age) seeking recovery from substance use disorders.

Intake Coordinator I are responsible for overseeing all aspects of participant entry into residential services. Assessing participant needs and strengths in support of health and recovery, overseeing orientation to programmatic culture and structure, and managing communication with referral sources. They also are responsible for planning and coordinating community events and sober activities. The Intake Coordinator I are expected to communicate with appropriate funders, and HealthRIGHT 360 personnel. Providing high quality customer service, Intake Coordinator I welcomes participants to NCSH residential services and accurately enters information into various electronic systems to complete the admissions process.

Key Responsibilities
  • Welcomes participants to NCSH behavioral health services and provides high quality customer service.
  • Assesses participants for treatment needs and identifies and coordinates any social, legal, medical or other services needed.
  • Ensures all required paperwork is completed accurately and within required time frames.
  • Utilizes appropriate electronic systems to enter bed nights, and keep accurate records of intake dates, discharge dates and child count onsite to ensure program is in compliance with business license.
  • Utilizes strong assessment skills while administering the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) assessment as well as the ICD-10 and DSM-5 diagnoses.
  • Facilitates weekly groups on program policies, procedures, culture and structure as part of orientation process.
  • Assures new participants are linked with program participant supports.
  • Ensuring new participants have safe and comfortable accommodations to meet their needs.
  • Assesses and refers participants to appropriate levels of care. Maintains planned intakes and when at capacity, refers participants to other service providers.
  • Maintains utilization within each funding source.
Education and Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Education Required:
  • Registration with Drug and Alcohol Certification recognized by Department of Health Care Services (DHCS).
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • First Aid Certified within 30 days of employment.
  • CPR Certified within 30 days of employment.
  • A valid California driver's license and automobile insurance.
Desired:
  • Drug and Alcohol Certification recognized by Department of Health Care Services (DHCS).
  • Bachelor's degree in related field.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish.
Background Clearance Required:
  • Must not be on active parole or probation.
