Job Summary
The Senior Fixed Asset Accountant will report to the Accounting Manager. The Senior Fixed Asset Accountant is responsible for the timely and accurate completion of fixed asset and software development cost journal entries and reconciliations during each month-end close, ensuring all work performed is in accordance with GAAP, and to self-manage the position by improving documentation, recommending improvements to current accounting processes and procedures as they relate to fixed assets and software development costs, coaching peers, etc.

Essential Functions include but not limited to

  • Act as the Subject Matter Expert for all fixed asset and software development cost topics.
  • Analyze and document accounting conclusions related to Software-as-a-Service contracts and Statements of Work
  • Partner with the Finance, Supply Chain, Legal, and Operations Teams to ensure all fixed asset and software development projects are identified and properly analyzed, tracked, and recorded in accordance with GAAP.
  • Record and track all fixed asset activity in the fixed asset subledger in the Company's ERP system.
  • Work closely with the Accounting Manager and Controller to prepare for full PCAOB audits (including internal controls).
  • Assist accounting staff in the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual accounting and other operational reports.
  • Review journal entries and reconciliations performed by accounting staff.
  • Prepare journal entries & reconciliations for fixed assets and software development costs, as well as other accounts and expense types as needed.
  • Identify large and unusual variances in expenses, and work with management for corrective actions.
  • Assist with filing property taxes and assist in analysis of use tax liabilities related to fixed asset and other purchases.
  • Complete ad-hoc analysis projects for management as needed.
  • Lead the implementation of specific internal controls, processes, and procedures.
