Description

Job Overview: The Inventory Accountant at GBC Food Services, LLC will be responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records and ensuring financial integrity through detailed accounting and analysis. This role requires a thorough understanding of inventory management, accounting principles, and the ability to work collaboratively with various departments to optimize inventory practices. Proficiency in ERP's (Netsuite) and strong warehouse inventory accounting experience is essential for success in this role.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • None
Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and reconcile inventory accounts, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.
  • Conduct regular inventory and cycle counts audits to maintain inventory accuracy.
  • Based on Audits, perform corrective action to reconcile and create continuous improvement process to deter future variances.
  • Analyze inventory variances and provide detailed reports to management.
  • Coordinate with procurement and operations teams to address inventory discrepancies.
  • Prepare monthly inventory valuation reports and assist in the preparation of financial statements.
  • Monitor and report on slow-moving and obsolete inventory.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of inventory management policies and procedures.
  • Support the annual physical inventory process.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards and regulations.
  • Utilize NetSuite, and other systems for inventory management and reporting.
Competencies:
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and inventory management systems, particularly NetSuite.
Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Experience with NetSuite and/or strong warehouse inventory accounting experience.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in accounting, with a focus on inventory management.
  • Experience with NetSuite and/or significant experience in warehouse inventory accounting.
Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Ability to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally.
Work Environment:
  • Standard office environment with occasional visits to production facilities.
