Position Overview:
The Senior Inventory Accountant / Cost Accountant is a pivotal role within our organization, responsible for conducting comprehensive inventory assessments and maintaining precise financial documentation.

Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct detailed inventory analysis and maintain accurate financial reports, records, and ledgers.
- Assist in all facets of inventory accounting, including the preparation of both recurring and non-recurring accruals, inventory reserve assessments, and lower of cost or market (LCM) calculations.
- Collaborate with the Inventory Manager and accounting teams to establish and execute standard closing schedules and desk procedures.
- Support the execution of inventory existence procedures, including physical inventories and cycle counts for both company-managed and third-party locations.
- Work closely with the Director of Accounting to monitor offsite inventory balances and sales activities, and contribute to the development of innovative tracking solutions.
- Engage with the IT and Enterprise Reporting teams to enhance inventory reporting capabilities and assist in user testing.
- Manage non-routine inventory transactions and prepare LCM reserve calculations along with necessary reports.
- Facilitate the preparation of schedules and reports required for external audits.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting is required.
- Public accounting experience is preferred.
- A minimum of six years' experience in inventory or cost accounting is essential.
- Experience in the manufacturing, electronics, or distribution sectors is advantageous.
- Strong understanding of GAAP principles related to inventory.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and MS Access is necessary.
- Experience with SQL Report Queries is a plus.
- ERP experience is required, with a strong preference for Oracle expertise.
