Front Desk Receptionist

Fortrea is seeking an energetic and friendly receptionist with experience providing administrative support and customer service to visitors and internal staff. This individual will provide excellent customer service by assisting visitors, answering phone lines, and helping with questions and issues as they arise. As the first point of contact for those entering our building and as a representative for Fortrea, we will expect this individual to exemplify our values and what we are about as a company.
Summary of Responsibilities:
- Ensure that all calls are answered following the Company guidelines, whilst providing a professional and courteous telephone service and ensuring that all calls are dealt with speedily and efficiently.
- Provide a professional courteous reception service to all visitors.
- Use of the computerized security access system to update and monitor security access cards.
- Ensure that on arrival all clients and visitors are logged in and issued with visitor passes where necessary. Ensure the host is informed that the visitor has arrived. On departure ensure the visitors are logged out and that all passes are returned to reception.
- Ensure entrance to building and office areas are always monitored and free of clutter during normal business hours.
- Routinely inspect all front entrance doors to ensure proper and secure operation of doors and card access system. Report any issues to Office & Facilities Services Coordinator and the Site Leader.
- Book taxis or shuttle services for clients and visitors where appropriate.
- Receive packages and mail. Sort and distribute to individuals onsite or forward to appropriate recipients.
- Scan and email mail; such as AP invoices, legal correspondence and other priority mail as needed.
- Prepare postage and send mail and packages as required.
- Forward incoming Faxes.
- Maintain list of recipients email addresses, physical address and fax numbers for package, fax and digital mail deliveries.
- Process all outgoing mail and packages for pick up daily.
- All other duties as needed or assigned.
- 2 -3 years related experience.
- Knowledge of computer programs - MS Word & Excel
This is an onsite position located at our Durham, NC location and hours are Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm EST.
