The Promontory Club is looking to fulfill a vacancy for a Events & Catering Assistant

Reports To: Event Catering Manager

Length of Term: summer seasonal to start with possible transition to full time based on demand

Hours Per Week: estimated 20+/week

Position Summary:

The Events Catering Assistant will work closely with the Senior Sales Manager and Event Catering Manger to provide support for private functions, conferences, and sponsored events on property.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Assist Senior Sales Manager (SSM) with coordinating logistical and administrative tasks during the planning stages for events.
  • Assist Catering Sales Manager (CSM) with event production during set up, event execution and break down of events as required.
  • Assist with golf tournament logistics & event execution as needed
  • Assist with event vendors to maintain timelines, request quotes and quality control.
  • Maintain records including event contracts, payments, CRM tools, event timelines, BEOs, ROS, floorplans & post event surveys.
  • Event ordering including tables, chairs, linens & dcor.
  • Maintain an inventory of event supplies.
Qualifications

Qualifications include:
  • 2 years experience in an upscale, hospitality driven organization preferred.
  • Demonstrates a proactive, collaborative approach to responsibilities.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Creative approach to problem solving and eagerness to contribute ideas.
  • Confident written and verbal communication.
  • Passion for hospitality.
  • Ability to work within a team as well as independently.
  • Experience in Special Events planning is a plus.
  • Strong professional demeanor and appearance.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS: Must be willing to work various hours, nights, holidays and weekends when needed; must be able to stand on feet for long periods of time.

Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship. Wages will start at $24.00/per hour commensurate with experience.
