We are currently recruiting for a Regional Operations Manager to cover our Wisconsin and New York territories. The ideal candidate will have chemical manufacturing and management experience. The position will be required to manage both Wisconsin and New York locations, and travel will be required.

Job duties will include, but not be limited to the following:

Management Responsibilities:

  • Manages all production, commercial drivers, and field service positions for designated region. In some cases, this may include another state.
  • Oversees the daily operations for the plant location and the region.
  • Works collaboratively with Human Resources to handle recruiting, interviewing, hiring, onboarding, performance, payroll/timecards, coaching, and training of all team members. Acts as first point-of-contact for HR-related issues with team members and escalates to Human Resources Director as needed.
  • Provides supervision, training, and development of subordinates in all aspects of the job, including situational responses and actions.
  • Follows all Specialty Sales LLC's Safety Policies and Operating Procedures and ensures the participation of all employees in the requirements and activities of the Company's safety program.
  • Demonstrates strong, consistent knowledge of the day-to-day activities of their team, and how those activities support the organization's strategy and goals.
  • Monitors financial health of plant/region and communicates appropriately with Finance Department.
  • Develops programs to improve technical and business skills of the team.
Plant Responsibilities :
  • Maintains the highest safety and housekeeping standards applicable and ensures employees are trained in appropriate safety measures, wearing the required PPE.
  • Follow Standard Operating Procedures as written, ensuring team members have been trained and are knowledgeable of procedures and SOPs as written.
  • Reviews formulation orders for accuracy both when receiving and after they have been completed. Completes and signs off on paperwork as required.
  • Ensures that products meet the quality and production standards based on scheduled demands.
  • Reviews production and shipping schedules daily and takes proactive measures to ensure their completion. This includes recommendations to modify the schedule and/or manning as appropriate.
  • Inspects production equipment to ensure efficient operation and notifies leadership of corrective actions taken to maintain scheduled product formulations.
  • Complies with all Process Safety Management and Risk Management Program requirements.
  • Operating plant and lab equipment as needed, including but not limited to connecting and/or disconnecting hoses, operating load out pumps for trucks, tanks, blenders and/or railcars, operating packaging equipment, filling and/or unloading drums, totes, trucks and/or railcars, handling, transporting, moving, adding and/or mixing liquid and dry hazardous chemicals, performing laboratory testing on production and field samples.
  • Provide routine preventative maintenance to the facility by troubleshooting and repairing equipment within the facility.
  • Works collaboratively with other departments to ensure company's needs are met.
DOT Responsibilities:
  • Maintains thorough knowledge of DOT regulations with regard to managing CDL drivers.
  • Understands and manages BIT inspection schedules.
  • Ensures all drivers meet all Federal, State, and Local requirements and maintain appropriate licensure and medical certification.
  • In coordination with Logistics, assists in the FMSCA Random Drug Screening and Reasonable Suspicion processes.
  • Works collaboratively with Transportation Supervisor to meet all Federal and State guidelines with regard to CDL holders.
  • Works with Customer Service/Logistics group on routing and delivery needs.
Field Services Responsibilities :
  • Reviews projects and defines the equipment and service scope with stakeholders.
  • Works with engineering and fabrication to prepare equipment, installation, and parts list, as well as coordinates shipment and installation at customer site.
  • Develops methods, guidelines, and policies to facilitate efficient service delivery. Builds, adjusts, and perfects schedules to meet customer needs.
  • Ensures all customer issues are satisfactorily resolved utilizing account managers, operations, engineering, manufacturing, and other teams as needed.
  • Supervises mechanical and electrical installation, monitors and enforces scope as well as manages customer expectations. Supervises start-up and commissioning of equipment.
  • Works collaboratively with Field Services Supervisor on all projects.
  • Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned to meet business needs.

Requirements

Employment
  1. Provide evidence of employment eligibility acceptable to state and federal standards.
  2. Must be at least 21 years of age.
  3. Ability to successfully complete all pre-employment requirements, including background check and health screenings.
Education/Experience
  1. Requires a high school diploma/GED.
  2. Prefer a Bachelor of Science or greater in Science or Engineering, from an accredited college or university.
  3. Five to seven years of experience managing a team, preferably located in various geographic regions, is highly desired. Management in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  4. Proficient in Microsoft Office products, including but not limited to, Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  5. Working knowledge in batch making process preferred.
  6. Previous safety and/or hazmat training in a manufacturing is highly preferred.
  7. Ability to travel up to 25%. Overnight travel may be required.

Certification
OSHA Hazwoper preferred.

PSM / RMP training preferred.

Prefer a valid forklift certification.

Have and maintain a valid driver's license, in the state of residence, and a safe driving record meeting the company's vehicle policy and insurability standards.
