DSG is seeking a Regional Operations Analyst for our Minnesota region to work out of our Plymouth, MN branch. In this full time, salaried position, work is typically performed between the hours of 8am and 5pm, Monday through Friday, but may vary on occasion according to business needs. As a Regional Operations Analyst, you will be a key contributor to areas of the regional and branch operations that impact service and responsiveness to our customers, suppliers, and employee owners.

A Typical Day in the Life of an Regional Operations Analyst at DSG:

  • Support and lead projects focused on measuring and improving warehouse efficiency, reducing excess inventory, and operations-related initiatives.
  • Support pricing reviews and updates to ensure competitive positioning; maintain and update customer pricing profiles/contracts upon approval
  • Monitor and manage inventory performance; work with branch and regional leadership to ensure inventory is controlled and meeting goals
  • Support the sales and operations initiatives of the regional leadership team (General Manager, Operations Manager, Sales Managers)
  • Identify work procedures in a priority manner, prioritize workflow and communicate priorities effectively with associates
  • Promote and maintain branch operational excellence through Eclipse (ERP) system review, and support
  • Notify management regarding cost savings and profit improvement
  • Identify and recommend process improvement initiatives
  • Advise leadership as necessary regarding customer related and/or branch procedural issues that may need to be addressed
  • All other duties as assigned


A Successful Regional Operations Analyst Typically Has:

  • College degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, Finance or a related field or 5 years of experience in distribution, the industry and/or a related field.
  • Work experience in distribution, the industry and/or a related field.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze complex data sets
  • Proficiency in Microsoft excel and other data analysis tools
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • A high level of analytical ability to integrate and interpret data from diverse sources and find solutions to technical, strategic, or administrative problems; must be able to analyze problems, propose reasonable solutions, make logical decisions, carry out decisions made and follow-up with feedback where and when appropriate.
  • Interpersonal communication skills necessary to lead others and deal effectively with a diverse group of external customers and vendors, as well as internal contacts at all levels of the company.
  • The ability to plan, analyze, prioritize, and organize work effectively and to perform under pressure and time deadlines.
