Job Description:

OUR TEAM: Our Tailored R&D Solutions (TRS) business leverages Promega's innovative technologies and R&D expertise to provide customized solutions and a strategic partnership to help advance clients' drug discovery and development workflows. TRS screening services support client drug discovery ventures through high-throughput screening (HTS) and compound selectivity profiling. We are a dynamic, and highly collaborative team that is focused on delivering high quality data with rigor, reproducibility, an operations mindset and a relentless pursuit of excellence.

YOUR ROLE: As a Research Scientist in our TRS screening services team, you will play a pivotal role in executing all lab operations. You will design, validate, and screen client compound against our innovative suite of cellular assays using our state-of-the-art laboratory automation. You will work with program management to ensure timely completion of customer projects. You will work closely with the broader R&D organization to transfer new assays and technologies into our screening services portfolio. This position offers a challenging and rewarding opportunity to directly contribute to our clients projects, the growth of the business and to the success of our team. TRS screening services is a rapidly growing business within Promega with significant career development and growth opportunities.

YOUR EXPERIENCE: You have a strong laboratory background in cell biology, including mammalian cell culture. You have a strong commitment to constant process improvement and optimization. You have experience in some or all of the following areas: cell culture, laboratory automation, method development and validation, compound management, HTS and or selectivity profiling, laboratory informatics, data analysis and scientific writing. Prior experience working in a fee-for-service or CRO setting is highly desired.

CORE DUTIES:

1. Responsible for the execution, analysis, and delivery of compound screening and profiling projects for clients. Designs, executes, analyzes and troubleshoots screening runs. Takes initiatives to achieve project outcomes.

2. Develops and executes robust compound management capabilities that ensures compound availability, integrity and traceability.

3. Design and implement laboratory automation methods.

4. Ensures smooth transition and scalability during assay and technology transfer from R&D into the TRS screening services.

5. Drives process improvement initiatives that grow the capabilities, capacity, and robustness of the lab in order to better support our customers and grow the business.

6. Delivers high-quality, accurate data via rigorous and reproducible automation workflows.

7. Provides clear, insightful data reports and engages effectively with clients to interpret results, offering expert advice and recommendations.

8. Fosters strong relationships with clients and internal teams to ensure project objectives are met in a timely and efficient manner.

9. Stays up-to-date on relevant industry technologies, methodologies, and trends, and implement new techniques or lab automation as necessary.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS:

1. B.S. degree in scientific discipline with 3-9 years post graduate lab experience.

2. Demonstrated competence in the design and execution of complex experimental strategies.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

1. Ability to work at lab bench or laminar flow hood for extended period of time.

2. Ability to wear personal protective equipment while in the lab (gloves, lab coat, safety glasses, etc.).

3. Ability to operate a computer.
