Job Summary

Arrowhead Pharmaceuticals is seeking an experienced Associate Scientist to join our Biology team at our research and development facility in Madison, WI. This role will focus on supporting in vitro, ex vivo, and/or in vivo studies to drive drug discovery and development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support in vitro, ex vivo, and/or in vivo studies to facilitate drug discovery and development
  • Perform cell-based functional assays, including RNA isolation and qPCR, immunoassays, and luminescence-based assays
  • Support teams in new target identification and validation, and maintain a high level of productivity in the lab
  • Primary Bioassays Responsibilities:
    • Execution of biological assays examining gene and protein expression
    • Data analysis, including Excel and Benchling experience
    • Work with a small team of scientists, while working closely with other research groups and senior managers
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in biology or related field, or associate's degree in related field with at least 1 year of experience in cell biology, molecular biology, immunology, pharmacology, or related field of Biology
  • Strong problem-solving skills and excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Self-motivated team player with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary, matrixed environment
Preferred Qualifications
  • Industrial (Biotech or Pharma) research experience
  • Experience with methods and technologies involving mammalian cell culture, in vitro cell-based assays, molecular biology, including qPCR, immunoassays, and microscopy
  • Knowledge of pulmonary, cardiovascular, CNS, or metabolic disease
