Job Description:

Candidates must have experience with integrated leaves management (not just FMLA) and will frequently be responsible for handling of ADA accommodations.
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8am-5pm locally for candidates residing in CST or EST
Duration: 3-6 months, potential for extension and/or conversion depending on department's needs

Position Overview
  • Our Leave Specialist plays a pivotal role in supporting the leave administration programs at client.
  • They actively engage in day-to-day administration and ensure compliance with our leave, disability, and accommodation-related programs.
  • As a critical link between our organization and leave management vendors, they consult with employees and managers regarding leave of absence policies and processes. Additionally, they provide dedicated support to individuals on leave or those requiring accommodations.
  • Collaboration Opportunities Leave Specialists work in close collaboration with Payroll, the Talent Team, and third-party vendors to effectively administer all leave programs.
What You Will Be Doing
  • Providing information and guidance to employees and managers related to state, federal, and company sponsored leave and accommodation benefits.
  • Managing and escalating complex cases appropriately for guidance, including but not limited to issues related to system processing, leave pay discrepancies, employee feedback and vendor escalations.
  • Reviewing the accuracy of leave related payments in a timely manner and resolving discrepancies.
  • Collaborating on ADA accommodation requests.
  • Assisting with Workers Comp claims.
  • Coordinating processes for leave, disability, and absence management programs to ensure appropriate risk management, cost control and compliance.
  • Assisting in identifying areas for LOA and disability process improvement opportunities and contributing to the development and definition of standards for new Leave Administration processes.
  • Participating in the design and promotion of our Leave Administration offerings by creating communications for our company newsletter, internal web site, and for open enrollment.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree - Required
  • 3+ years of experience in integrated absence management in a multi-state setting. - Required
  • Advanced knowledge of federal and state leave laws, specifically, the Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA),
  • Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), and State Paid Family Medical Leaves (PFML). - Required
  • In-depth understanding paid disability programs, particularly Short-term Disability (STD) and Long-term
  • Disability (LTD). - Required
  • Customer-focused mindset, with the ability to deeply understand client and employee needs, engage empathetically, and proactively solve problems.
  • Strong analytical thinking skills, enabling assessment of compliance issues and identification of root causes.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications, including Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with Workday Leave Management and Payroll portals preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills, encompassing strong oral and written communication abilities.
  • Capable of communicating potentially detailed and complex information to others with tact and empathy.
  • Unwavering commitment to confidentiality and discretion.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Technical Requirements
  • All team members are required to have a smartphone so that they can access Microsoft Multi-Factor Authentication & Microsoft Teams
  • Due to the use of the NICE application for servicing our inbound and outbound calls, client requires that all CSR team members have an internet service that provides 100 MBPS fiber optic, high speed service and must be able to connect directly to your router via an ethernet cord
  • The use of WIFI on your laptop will be disabled, as while using NICE will cause dropped calls, and inability to hear voice through your headset
  • The below internet services are NOT compatible with the NICE application and are, therefore, NOT acceptable for this role:
  • 4G, 5G, LTE or Satellite Internet service, as they are an escalated WIFI / Hot Spot service
