Additionally, this position will coordinate communication between the health system and its various sites (hospitals, clinics, health systems, and corporate). As an Accounting Manager at Community Health Systems, you'll play a vital role in supporting our purpose to help people get well and live healthier by providing safe, quality healthcare, building enduring relationships with our patients, and providing value for the people and communities we serve. Requirements: * Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field from an accredited university * Five (5) or more years of experience in Accounting/Finance setting in progressive roles, including prior leadership positions. * Two (2) or more years of supervisory experience. * Strong understanding of general accounting knowledge and principles * Strong computer skills Preferred: * Master's in Accounting or Business Administration * Google Suite * Oracle * Hospital/Healthcare System, multi-site accounting experience * Certified Public Accountant * Six Sigma Certified About the Opportunity: * Ensure assigned Senior Accountants and Staff Accountants are developed to provide the highest level of customer care and service to our hospitals/healthcare systems or corporate clients through actions, attitudes, and timeliness as committed to in SLAs. * Support local hospitals/health systems and Corporate in processing related General Ledger transactions (e.g., analyzing the issue, routing to appropriate teams, acting as the intermediary between local and SBO teams, etc.) * Participate in the coordination of month-end close activities within the SBO; ensure tracking and monitoring of month-end activities are completed by provided deadlines per policy. * Assist with integration monitoring and "suspense" account resolution. * Assist in providing supporting documentation for internal / external audits. * Empower your General Ledger Accounting team to succeed by: communicating the SBO mission, vision, and role expectations; coaching, enabling, and developing your team; framing problems and performance with a team lens; building a trusting, engaging, "open-door" culture in our remote workplace. * Provide recommendations for continuous improvement of financial processes, reports, and system configuration/applications in partnership with your Director while continuing to stay up to date on the latest trends in financial shared services. * Work cross-functionally with leadership and peers to help identify potential scalable accounting processes and support their development of practical solutions as well as partner closely with SBO leadership to provide insights and direction to staff based on feedback, as needed. * This is a full time remote opportunity We know it's not just about finding a job.
