Basic Function:
The Business Development Manager is responsible for engaging new and existing CVS clients to find opportunities to deliver CVS services that improve producer profitability and success. This position is open to remote location for those located in the
Midwestern United States , or based out of our
corporate office in Carthage, Illinois . The job will require the ability to travel easily within the Midwest region to clients and corporate office as needed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Maintain and enhance current client relationships and identify and engage new clients
Develop and execute plans for business and revenue growth
Generate new leads, identify and contact decision-makers, screen potential business opportunities, select opportunities in line with strategies, and facilitate service or product delivery to the client through appropriate channels
Develop deep understanding of client business and needs and connect client with CVS business offerings that address opportunities and create value
Continuously gather market intelligence to ensure CVS products and services are competitively positioned
Collaborate with CVS department leaders to ensure services are relevant and help drive innovation based on client needs
Maintain a strong understanding of company products or services as well as business position and competition
Work with department leaders to coordinate delivery of services to clients. Develop new and innovative product and service delivery mechanisms and platforms that streamline the customer experience and drive business growth
Maintain and share professional knowledge through education, networking, events, and presentations at industry conferences and meetings
Provide nutrition technical support to producers that aligns with health and production strategies and optimizes production and financial outcomes
Create/review production performance reports to identify areas of opportunity
Performs other duties as assigned
Education and Work Experience:
BS degree in Animal Science or similar
Master’s degree in Swine Nutrition or Feed Science (preferred)
Minimum of 5 years of commercial swine industry experience
Knowledge and Skills:
Ability to interact with team members, producers and industry allies in a professional manner
Ability to establish processes for activities that lead to the implementation of systems, procedures or outcomes (focus on meeting business development metrics and goals).
Ability to see swine production operations from a systematic view and connect product and services broadly to opportunities that drive value for the customer
Ability to formulate swine diets (preferred)
Familiarity with contemporary record keeping systems
Strong organizational and communication skills
