POSITION: Business Development Program

COMPANY: Olson Duncan

LOCATION: Torrance, California (3 months of in-person followed by hybrid or remote work)

COMPENSATION: $75k to $100k base salary plus $15k-$20k first year additional compensation

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: 5+ years B2B account management or sales

VISION: Producers at Olson Duncan exemplify the agencys One Responsible Source platform to bring clients convenience, security, and value through service. They work with leaders in a target industry where they become experts in property & casualty insurance and risk management. Producers ensure the seamless proactive delivery of Olson Duncan services to clients as they build a sustainable sales career with long term client partnerships, steadily growing income, and opportunities to mentor others while maintaining work and life balance.

This position includes pursuing new clients as well as taking care of existing clients for the agency. While candidates must have strong business acumen and a high degree of professionalism, all industry specific sales and insurance training is provided.

- Expert level insurance and risk management knowledge

- Steady referrals from within a target industry

- Large book of clients in industries where the producer is seen as an expert

- Able to mentor new producers

ACTIONS:

- Study and master Olson Duncans One Responsible Source platform

- Develop a deep understanding of Olson Duncans team and the available resources

- Draft a sales plan including defined goals and routines

- Study assigned clients insurance programs and prepare for insurance renewals

- Compile a prospect list in targeted industry verticals

- Follow a path for developing industry knowledge through certifications and other continuing education

ROUTINES:

- Grow prospect pipeline through market research and sales tools such as LinkedIn and Google

- Connect with business owners and leaders via calling, emailing and in-person meetings

- Prepare prospect due diligence through extensive research

- Meet with prospects and clients and share the differentiators of the agency

- Establish relationships with local centers of influence within target industries

- Attend trade shows and networking events within target industries

- Oversee the gathering of information required for property & casualty

- Recognize client needs and coordinate with agency teams to deliver value-added solutions

- Bring additional services to clients and deliver on the One Responsible Source methodology

- Study valuable certification material

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

- 5 to 15 years of experience working in a sales and/or client management environment

- Willing to participate in an intensive training program including significant study and work

- College degree with emphasis in business, marketing, finance, sales, economics or similar fields of study where a high degree of business acumen is expected

- Currently licensed or willing to obtain California Property & Casualty Insurance agents license

- Proficient in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word)
