POSITION SUMMARY

As a member of the admission team, the regional representative is responsible for recruiting first year students and supporting any transfer efforts in the Chicagoland area by attending college fairs, visiting high schools and community colleges, meeting with high school counselors and families, and developing innovative ways to cultivate student interest in Loras College. In addition, this representative conducts admission activities that are within College policies and in accordance with professional ethics established by the National Association of College Admissions Counseling (NACAC).

Essential Functions Statement(s)
  • Formulate and implement recruitment strategies, plans and goals for the region based on demographic analyses, market research and other admission data.
  • Develop working knowledge of Loras' academic programs and co-curricular opportunities, policies and procedures.
  • Support students and their families through all aspects of the enrollment journey including financial aid.
  • Communicate information about Loras' admission requirements to prospective students, families, guidance counselors, community-based organizations, and alumni volunteers.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with students, families, high school counselors and other school, church, agency and community officials in the region.
  • Plan travel schedule in collaboration with campus office, visit high schools, college fairs and community colleges and represents the College at college day/night programs; extensive evening and weekend work expected.
  • Conduct individual and group presentations.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of recruitment strategies.
  • Attend professional conferences and meetings as assigned.
  • Attend campus training and events as assigned.
  • Support the mission and vision of the College and respect the College's Catholic tradition.
  • Perform related duties as assigned.

Education: Bachelor's Degree (four year college or university) in any field.

Experience: Two to four years of college admission experience.

SKILLS & ABILITIES

Other Requirements: Skilled in the use of most office software, social media platforms and CRM software (Slate). Thorough knowledge of academic programs, financial aid process and activities of Loras College. Ability to work independently in pursuit of clearly defined goals. Ability to establish and maintain ongoing relationships with high school guidance counselors, students and families. Must work effectively with diverse offices on campus. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Strong presentation and organization skills essential. Valid driver's license and willingness to drive required.
