At Acadia Healthcare Inc, we are dedicated to providing exceptional inpatient treatment for adults aged 18 and older. We are currently seeking a committed and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our admissions team.
As an Admissions RN, you will be instrumental in facilitating a seamless admissions process for our patients. Your clinical knowledge, meticulous attention to detail, and collaborative spirit will be vital in delivering top-notch care.
Acadia Healthcare Inc is a respected healthcare provider focused on delivering outstanding mental health services. In the Intake and Admissions department, your contributions will significantly impact the lives of our patients.
Key Responsibilities:- Evaluate medical documentation for all admissions, perform medication reconciliation, and secure admission orders from physicians.
- Manage emergency transfers for patients requiring care beyond our facility's capabilities.
- Assess referrals from hospitals, facilities, and community organizations, evaluating medical and behavioral needs and responding promptly.
- Address inquiries regarding our facility, offering appropriate guidance and information.
- Conduct assessments to determine the suitable level of care within our facility.
- Collaborate with medical and psychiatric teams to ensure accurate recommendations and admissions.
- Oversee the admissions process, including assessments, consent, and inventory of patient belongings.
- Perform insurance benefit verifications and obtain initial pre-authorization for treatment and admission.
- Monitor patient status throughout the admissions process, adhering to facility policies and physician directives.
- Utilize web-based systems to track and review referrals.
- Communicate projected admissions to designated internal personnel promptly.
- Ensure timely receipt of all clinical information, including medical comorbidities, from referral sources or patients.
- Schedule and conduct pre-admission assessments, consult with admitting physicians, and relay disposition recommendations to patients or their families.
- Maintain accurate medical record documentation to facilitate payor authorization at the requested level of care.
- Complete initial pre-authorization for treatment and admission within payor timeframe guidelines.
- Register patients in the system, completing all necessary admission and consent forms.
- Exhibit a positive, empathetic, and professional demeanor towards patients, prioritizing their safety and addressing concerns or complaints promptly.
- Coordinate care for patients not being admitted, ensuring they receive appropriate follow-up care and referrals.
- Conduct safety checks and provide supervision as required by special precautions and individualized guidelines.
We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented individual who is passionate about delivering exceptional patient care and ensuring efficient admissions processes.
- Minimum of an Associate's degree in Nursing.
- At least one year of experience working with individuals in a clinical or observational capacity, preferably within the relevant area of specialty.
Licenses/Designations/Certifications:
- Clear and active nursing license in the state.
- CPR and de-escalation/restraint certification required (training available upon hire).
- First aid certification may be required based on state or facility regulations.
