Job description The University of Iowa’s Office of Strategic Communication (OSC) is seeking a Brand Coordinator to join their team for a term appointment of one year. The Brand Coordinator will support the Director of Brand Management in developing and safeguarding the University of Iowa brand. This position is eligible for hybrid work within Iowa and will require a work arrangement form to be completed upon the start of your employment. Per policy, work arrangements will be reviewed annually, and must comply with the remote work program and related policies and employee travel policy when working at a remote location. Key Areas of Responsibility Operational Support and Management Coordinate brand-related meetings, workshops, and trainings, including scheduling, logistics, and preparation of materials. Organizing and maintaining branded merchandise samples, OSC branded swag collection, and display rentals. Coordinate the rental process for branded display items, including reviewing and approving rental requests, managing logistics for pick-up and return of brand items, conducting thorough inspections of rented items upon return to identify any damage or wear and tear, and proactively identifying ways to improve the rental process. Information Management Assist with drafting, and editing brand-related documents and guidelines, including the brand manual website, training resources, presentations, and metric reports. Help maintain records and files related to brand guidelines, resources, projects, and vendor partnerships. Review and track metrics to compile comprehensive brand metric reports. Translate data into visually compelling charts, graphs, and presentations for leadership review. Communications Management Serve as the initial point person for brand-related inquiries from internal and external stakeholders. This includes artwork reviews for brand and licensing approval, questions about templates, signage, third-party usage, etc. Review inquiries against policy and guidelines, provide appropriate advice, coordinate responses, and ensure timely follow-up actions to ensure effective resolution. Escalate to the Brand Manager when necessary. Assist in drafting, editing, and disseminating brand announcements, updates, and reports. Assist with developing and managing customer satisfaction surveys for brand-related services and resources. Financial Responsibility Monitor and track expenses related to brand activities and initiatives, ensuring that expenses stay within allocated budgets. Assess the product assortment available in the merchandise storefront and audit competitors' pricing to ensure items are fairly priced. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Marketing or Business related; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Proficient skills in computer software applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat. Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills; possess the ability to deal effectively with a broad spectrum of professionals and stakeholders. Attention to detail, highly organized and excellent follow through. Willingness and ability to learn to platforms and programs in an evolving industry. Proven track record of researching, organizing, analyzing, and synthesizing data to support effective decision making. Outstanding ability to articulate details, status updates, and desired outcomes to management and vendors and partners. Desirable Qualifications Experience utilizing website content management systems (e.g. Drupal). Working knowledge of graphic design principles and production process. Experience in higher education. Experience working in the trademark and licensing industry.
