They offer a range of Luxury products within the Apparel and Home Fashions categories.
We are looking for an experienced Technical Designer. This is not a remote role and the candidate will be required to live and work in Iowa near the company HQ.
In this role you will ensure products meet technical requirements to reduce returns and increase customer satisfaction, while maintaining the design integrity. This position will be responsible for all technical measurements by size as well as approving samples to ensure production timelines are met.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Coordinate with product development team to maintain appropriate fits for coats, jackets, & hats
Execute detailed graded specs for each style in a timely manner
Answer & guide factory staff on enhancements to fit while maintaining design integrity
Coordinate with quality control on production arrivals outside of tolerances to create a plan of action and resolve issues as they arise
Proactively monitor production return rates due to size related issues
Propose & execute fit changes to reduce returns while maintaining design integrity
Maintains database of approved graded specs
Skills & Requirements:
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in apparel technical design with specific knowledge in outerwear
Strong knowledge of patterns & pattern making
Advanced knowledge of garment construction
Experience fitting and working with live fit models
Ability to problem solve
Superior attention to detail
Superior communication skills both written and verbal
Ability to work under pressure
Ability to travel internationally
All Candidates must be able to provide work related references.
