Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Brand Manager who will serve as a key team member reporting to the Director of Brand Marketing. The Brand Manager will be responsible for helping plan, develop and implement marketing programs, as well as collaborate with the Director of Brand Marketing on innovation strategy and portfolio management.

This role will work closely with internal and external partners to develop brand content, review packaging, manage marketing assets, create and manage sales materials, and partner on social and digital strategy. A qualified candidate will also assist the Marketing Project Manager with the commercialization process and will lead the cross-functional project team in helping bring new products and packaging formats to market.

We are only accepting local candidates for this role, with an expectation of 3 days per week spent in the Downtown Los Angeles office.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as brand lead with external partners and vendors, such as creative agencies, digital services, content creators, and shopper marketing media.
  • Partner with internal and external stakeholders to develop and execute an always-on content strategy to fuel social and digital media efforts, ecommerce PDPs, owned websites, and trade-facing initiatives.
  • Monitor brand health metrics in partnership with Category Insights Manager, sourcing data from consumer research, syndicated data, and panel data.
  • Collaborate with Marketing Project Manager on commercialization projects including the development of sales materials and go-to-market plans.
  • Work together with the Social Media and Influencer Manager to provide brand-led priorities and strategies and assist with content development.
  • Partner with Marketing Associate on managing sales assets and trade show planning and execution.
  • Manage portfolio of products including helping identify innovation, renovation and packaging opportunities.
  • Create New Item trackers to monitor the performance of innovation once in market.
  • Collaborate with VP of Marketing and Director of Brand Marketing to develop annual plan and budget.
  • Help deploy the brand's new positioning framework and work with key agency partners to help refresh brand identity, including brand persona, tone of voice, and visual identity.
  • Monitor category and competitive performance to identify potential threats and opportunities to the brand, utilizing syndicated data, panel data, consumer research, and other available tools.
  • Identify key problems to solve for the brand from a consumer, customer, category, competitive, and company lens.
What will make you successful in this role?
  • Bachelors Degree in Business, Marketing or related field.
  • 4+ years in Brand Management/Marketing within the Consumer Packaged Goods industry; Food/Bev preferred.
  • Experience assisting with the development, execution, and measurement of best-in-class marketing plans.
  • Strong analytical capabilities, including an ability to understand insights and implications from consumer research, syndicated data and panel data.
  • Familiar with consumer research and well-versed in syndicated and panel data with an ability to identify insights and implications for the brand.
  • Experience writing creative briefs, managing creative agencies, and evaluating creative assets.
  • Excellent communications skills, including cross-functional communication, executive communication, and presenting to internal and external audiences.
  • Comfortable multi-tasking and working on competing priorities.
  • Exceptional Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills.
  • Can-do attitude necessary for a startup environment where we need to wear multiple hats and do what it takes to get the job done.
  • Strong sense of urgency and a self-starter with a desire to grow personally and professionally.
