Under the supervision of the Commercial Loan Administration Manager, performs a variety of loan administration support for Small Business and Commercial Relationship Managers. Undertakes responsibility for accurate compliance and government reporting regulations. Assists with the preparation, coordination, and prioritization of the overall workflow in connection with Small Business and Commercial loan activity. Assists with pre-closing, closing, and post-closing functions to facilitate funding, closing, and booking of commercial and small business loans.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Manages individual and shared queues within the loan origination system to ensure proper pre-closing, closing, and post-closing functions are complete to facilitate accurate and timely loan closing and booking.
  • Demonstrates strong organizational skills and ability to work independently.
  • Maintains strong communication with the many parties involved with loan closing, both internal and external partners. Prepares bank, attorney, and customer correspondence.
  • Works with Loan Servicing to update core system with customer's information, monetary transactions, and account maintenance, as necessary. Works with Quality Control to coordinate with Relationship Managers for correction of any deficiencies.
  • Gathers and reports information as required by governing compliance and government regulations.
  • Reports HMDA information in the HMDA Wiz program.
  • Utilizes LaserPro for a variety of small business loans.
  • Contributes to creation and updates of department policies, procedures, and checklists.
  • Provides guidance and training for new Commercial Loan Administrators.
  • Obtains and reviews borrower information from third party reporting services such as OFAC, FIS/e-funds, AML/Patriot Act, First Advantage, Environmental and Flood Searches.
  • Ensures filing of UCC-1 and RMV-1 Applications with necessary State departments.
  • Maintains correspondence with SBA regarding SBA Guaranty Fee payments.
  • Maintains MassCap portfolio information and process fees.
  • Responds to customer's requests as to advances, payments, and transfers.
  • Participates in weekly pipeline/department meetings.
  • Payment of bills pertaining to outside vendors, i.e., Experian, CBC Flood Searches, environmental searches, attorneys, and appraisals.
SECONDARY DUTIES
  • General administrative tasks may include typing, faxing, copying, ordering of office supplies, telephone correspondence, filing, etc.
  • Stays current on mortgage and consumer credit and collection laws.
  • Attends various meetings and seminars related to job.
  • Involvement in community/banking groups.

COMPLIANCE:

Maintain an excellent understanding of applicable regulations and laws including but not limited to: Fair Lending, Home Mortgage Disclosure Act (HMDA), Flood Disaster Protection Act, Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), Regulation Z (Truth in Lending), Real Estate Settlement etc. Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act (RESPA), Community Reinvestment Act (CRA), Bank Secrecy Act, Regulation P (Privacy of Consumer Financial Information), Service Members Civil Relief Act of 2003, Unfair, Deceptive and Abusive Acts and Practices (UDAAP), etc. Maintain an up to date understanding of bank policies and procedures as they relate to compliance.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree (B. A.) or graduate of a Paralegal program; plus, five years related experience, or a minimum of 10 years related work experience, including past supervisory experience.

TECHNICAL SKILLS

Good knowledge of Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Office applications including general and intermediary Word and Excel skills for creating letters, templates, and spreadsheets. nCino and LaserPro experience is a plus.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as fees, interest, amortization, escrow, insurance requirements, GL entries, loan funding, and loan payoffs. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
