Position Summary

SUMMARY

Applies principles of accounting to analyze financial information and prepare financial reports

by performing the following duties. Directs and coordinates the work of A/P, A/R, and accountant.

This position will be hybrid remote once fully trained.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Prepare accurate financial reports/statements of past month and year to date activity, including, but not limited to income statement, balance sheet, cash flow and departmental expenses.
  • Assists in the annual budget process ensuring that all expense budgets are completed, approved and distributed prior to year-end with the appropriate back-up material.
  • Analysis of monthly accounting data and preparation of monthly journal entries.
  • Reconcile subsidiary ledgers to the GL account monthly, inter-company accounts, payroll and operating bank accounts.
  • Assists in establishing, modifying, documenting, and coordinating implementation ofaccounting and internal control procedures.
  • Maintains balance sheet accounts and analyzes at month and year-end.
  • Prepares the year-end account analysis and provides the back-up information required to complete an annual financial audit.
  • Fixed Assets - Monitors completion of projects and project spend. Retires appropriate assets.

  • Manages team of 3 and provides guidance to A/P, A/R, and accountant as required. Reviews monthly AR and AP trial balances and provides guidance getting any issues resolved.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS To perform this job successfully, an individual must

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in accounting from four-year

college or university; and five plus years' related experience and/or training; or equivalent

combination of education and experience preferably in a manufacturing environment.

LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common technical journals and

financial reports. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers,

regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to effectively present

information to management, customers or employees.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts. Ability to

apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test

reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor

analysis.

REASONING ABILITY Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw

valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in

mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee frequently is required to reach with hands and arms and talk and hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. WORK ENVIRONMENT While performing the duties of this job, the employee is indoors. The noise level in the work environment is moderate. Anytime that the employee is in the plant, he/she is required to follow all safety rules and procedures including, but not limited to, using required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
