Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Audit/Tax Manager to join our team at Novogradac & Company LLP. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing a variety of tax, audit, and other assignments, with a focus on supervising and mentoring staff and senior accountants.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage client engagements, including planning, staffing, timing, and technical issues
  • Oversee completion of engagements, identifying and solving problem areas
  • Conduct thorough engagement reviews
  • Supervise and mentor staff and senior accountants, guiding and educating them in technical areas
  • Complete annual performance evaluations and manage employee performance conversations
  • Assist principals and partners with identifying, meeting with, and pursuing new clients
  • Develop and strengthen client relationships through professionalism, responsiveness, and a service-oriented approach
  • Enhance skills in industries focused on by seeking out and completing training courses
  • Increase office profitability by managing time and staff efficiently
Requirements
  • Expert understanding of accounting and tax rules
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrate a level of intellectual curiosity
  • Consistently demonstrate strong personal, technical, and professional judgment
  • Perform work accurately and in a time-efficient manner with strong attention to detail
  • Strong organizational and follow-through skills
  • Ability to effectively prioritize a fast-paced and varied workload
  • Ability to work collaboratively and foster a productive, team-oriented environment
  • Strong computer skills, including solid skills in the Microsoft Office suite and report writing tools
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, with 5-8 years of experience in public accounting and/or a balance of education and work experience
  • CPA license required
  • Experience with affordable housing, low-income housing tax credits, opportunity zones, and other related fields is helpful but not mandatory
