What we're looking for:

Due to significant growth, Nexamp is seeking an experienced and dynamic Lead Customer Collections Specialist to oversee our collections team. This leadership position is critical for managing both residential and commercial customer interactions focused on educating the customer about Community Solar and resolving outstanding balances. As a senior member of the Customer Experience organization, this role this role will involve hands-on collections efforts and mentoring and development of our collections team. You will be hybrid out of Chicago, IL. You will report to the Manager of Billing & Collections.

What you'll do:

  • Lead the team to execute all activities related to Collections.
  • Develop strategies to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of collections processes while maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Mentor team members, provide training and support to enhance skills and drive team performance in alignment with company goals.
  • Conduct regular review and analysis of team performance, implementing improvements and innovations in collection tactics and strategies.
  • Manage escalated collection issues, interfacing with both customers and internal teams to facilitate solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory collections practices and maintain high standards.
  • Collaborate with other departments to streamline collection processes and integrate customer service excellence across platforms and interfaces.
  • Work with 3rd party agency to collect on large commercial balances.
  • Foster a positive team environment that encourages collaboration, innovation, and community.
What you'll bring:
  • 4+ years of professional experience in Collections or a related customer support role, with 1+ years of leadership experience.
  • Proven Track record of leadership and improving processes.
  • Communication and interpersonal skills to effectively lead a team and interact with a diverse client base
  • High proficiency in using CRM/ERP systems, preferably Salesforce and Dialpad.
  • Familiarity with QA and giving feedback.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic and changing environment and able to instill motivation and confidence in others.
  • Advanced problem-solving skills and the ability to manage complex situations.
