We are seeking a Full-Time Purchasing Specialist to join the team at our Sioux Falls location. Work hours are Monday through Friday during normal business hours and a Saturday rotation. Here’s what you’ll do: Identify and evaluate suppliers for construction tools and equipment. Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with suppliers. Place and track purchase orders to ensure timely delivery of products. Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and inventory levels. Conduct market research to identify trends and potential new suppliers. Monitor stock levels and reorder points to maintain optimal inventory levels. Coordinate with warehouse, inventory control, branch store managers to manage inventory flow. Analyze inventory reports to identify slow-moving or obsolete items and take corrective actions. Work closely with the sales, marketing, and accounting/finance departments to forecast demand and budget for procurement. Coordinate with the logistics team to ensure efficient delivery and storage of products. Support product development and marketing by providing insights into new and innovative tools and equipment. Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure high-quality products and services. Resolve any issues related to delivery, quality, or pricing with suppliers. Evaluate supplier performance and conduct regular reviews to ensure compliance with terms and conditions. Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies and industry regulations. Prepare regular reports on procurement activities, costs, and supplier performance. Assist in the preparation of annual procurement budgets and forecasts. Minimum of 3 years of experience in procurement, preferably in the construction tools and equipment industry. Strong knowledge of procurement principles, practices, and procedures.
