As an Intermediate Systems Engineer, you will independently perform a variety of systems engineering tasks that are broad in nature. Your role will involve the major systems design, integration, and implementation, covering personnel, hardware, software, and support facilities and/or equipment. You will play a crucial role in the seamless operation and security of our IT systems, ensuring they meet the highest standards of efficiency and compliance.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Engineering or a Mathematics-intensive discipline.
- Security Clearance: Secret (Minimum security investigation T5 required)
- Certification: Security+, 8570 certification in LINUX and/or Windows Operating System
- Training: Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7 and 8, Windows 10 and 11
- 5+ years of progressive experience in your field of study and specialization, showcasing a strong and evolving skill set.
- 5+ years of system administration experience with a thorough understanding of IA policies.
- 3+ years of experience in IT solutions development and cost estimation.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with the implementation of Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs).
Key Responsibilities:
System Administration Support:
Empower users by changing passwords and setting up new accounts.
Solve tech puzzles with system troubleshooting and create essential technical documentation, including installation guides, architecture diagrams, test reports, and cybersecurity status reports.
Set up success by installing application software and configuring workstation operating systems.
Be part of exciting deployments by supporting life cycle replacement activities for components and appliances.
Get hands-on experience with the physical installation of computer systems (workstations, servers) and peripherals (printers, plotters, scanners).
Be the go-to problem solver for hardware and software issues, investigating and resolving them efficiently.
Network Systems Administration Support:
Kick off installations by conducting Pre-installation Check Out (PICO) activities, including Cisco IOS and baseline configuration provisioning for life-cycle replacement (LCR) components and appliances.
Keep security top-notch by performing DISA STIG checks.
Facilitate seamless transitions by provisioning network change requests (NCR) to support computer system moves within the LAN and troubleshooting connection issues.
Be a deployment dynamo by supporting activities for LAN LCR components and appliances.
Get networks up and running by performing operating system loads and configurations for network appliances.
Stay cyber-secure by completing cybersecurity compliance checklists.
Bring networks to life by physically installing network equipment and creating/running network cables.
Specialized Skills:
- Must meet requirements for privileged IT access.
- Familiarity with DoD Cybersecurity workforce requirements.
