Job Duties and Responsibilities Updates accounting system billing and revenue recognition to reflect contract modifications Tracks project billing and funding utilization Prepares invoices for customers and, following customers procedures, submits said invoices for approvals and payments Posts payments received to the accounting system and manages AR aging balances Perform project profitability analyses, troubleshooting variances and providing commentary for job performance Works closely with Project Managers and other field personnel with reporting, training, and analysis Employs problem-solving skills and financial analysis Develops working knowledge of government contract requirements All work in compliance with FAR, GAAP, and company cost accounting policies and procedures Assists with special projects as needed and performs other duties as required. Required Skills Ability to remain flexible in a rapidly growing company Orientation to operations accounting with an inquisitive nature Ability to work well with others under deadline situations and respond to changes in priorities Good written and verbal communication skills and strong organizational skills Ability to work independently, take initiative, set priorities, and see projects through to completion Strong service orientation Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software Education and Experience: Minimum of a Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or equivalent 5-8 years of progressive accounting responsibilities Minimum two years in project/contract accounting, government contract accounting preferred Working knowledge of GAAP; knowledge of FAR and CAS preferred Experience with UNANET is a plus Advanced MS Excel a plus NIKA is an Affirmative Action and Equal Opportunity Employer.
