The agency is seeking a self-motivated, innovative, and energetic individual for the role of Program Coordinator for the agency’s nationally recognized and award-winning Clinician and Officer Remote Evaluation (CORE) telehealth program for patrol. The CORE Program Coordinator will play a pivotal role in the current operation and future of this program. CORE remotely connects a patrol deputy/officer in the field with a behavioral health clinician from The Harris Center for Mental Health and IDD (The Harris Center) via an iPad. The clinician helps the deputy triage a person in behavioral health distress and provides resource information to the deputy and the person in distress. Under the supervision of the Sergeant for Behavioral Health Training & Projects Unit, The Program Coordinator for the Clinician and Officer Remote Evaluation (CORE) telehealth program is responsible for overseeing the operational aspects of the program. This position involves coordinating with multiple law enforcement agencies and behavioral health clinicians, managing technology resources, training personnel, and ensuring the program's effective implementation and continuous improvement. This individual will work closely with personnel from The Harris Center and will routinely communicate with CORE deputies/officers in patrol, including deputies in the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, deputies in eight Harris County constable offices, and other police agencies who participate in CORE. Duties and Responsibilities: Review and analyze offense reports involving CORE interactions. Prepare and maintain quarterly statistical reports for participating law enforcement agencies. Train new CORE deputies and police officers on program protocols and technology usage. Act as a liaison between The Harris Center and participating law enforcement agencies. Monitor and manage the usage and distribution of iPads within the Harris County Sheriff's Office (HCSO) and constable offices. Oversee CORE personnel management, including transfers, promotions, and retirements. Maintain inventory and handle technical issues related to the iPads. Conduct needs assessments and identify training gaps. Design and update educational materials, job aids, and maintain training records. Analyze program effectiveness and implement necessary modifications. Ensure compliance with TCOLE requirements and maintain relevant paperwork. Foster and maintain relationships with law enforcement agencies and training institutions to expand program participation. Perform additional tasks as assigned, including special duties during emergency events.
