The Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation is dedicated to curing spinal cord injury by advancing innovative research and improving the quality of life for individuals and families impacted by paralysis. As a leader in spinal cord injury (SCI) research, the Foundation has invested $140 million into key research laboratories worldwide. Our National Paralysis Resource Center (NPRC) provides comprehensive resources, tools, and services, including a robust Quality of Life Grants Program, Peer & Family Support Program, Military and Veterans Program, Racial and Health Equity initiatives, and Advocacy efforts.

About the Role:

We are seeking a Grants Coordinator to join our dynamic four-person team. This role assists in the day-to-day administrative functions of the Quality of Life (QOL) grants program through key aspects of the grant lifecycle from 1) Pre-Award processes, 2) Award cycle communications and 3) Post-Award evaluation, reporting mechanisms and processing of information used to address program improvements. Primary responsibilities include coordinating and administering the process from incoming grant requests, vetting, communicating with stakeholders, assisting with the preparation of application materials, assisting with award and declination correspondence, and, finally, assisting with grant follow-up materials. Note: This is a NJ Based role, with a hybrid schedule - 2 days per week in the office

Job Responsibilities:

People

  • Process incoming grant requests through our online system, vet applications for eligibility, request additional information, and prepare application materials.
  • Ensure department compliance with federal grant guidelines, including grantee risk assessment.
  • Review grantee interim reports, provide project synopses, and communicate follow-up needs to grantees.
  • Assist in communicating with grant recipients regarding NPRC news & updates, grantee requirements, due dates, etc.
  • Assist in managing the QOL email, providing applicants with program information and technical assistance.
  • Provide outreach to attract applicants from underserved and unserved populations including organizations serving BIPOC diverse populations.
  • Conduct site visits (local, state, and domestic) to current and past grant awardees.
Events/Functions/Production
  • Attend and assist in NPRC-sponsored events (Reeve Summit, Advocacy Summit, etc.).
  • Serve internal and external workgroups as needed.
Data
  • Create spreadsheets, summaries, program reports, and presentations.
  • Assist in updating state and project-type reports.
  • Perform general data entry, validation, and updates.
Other:
  • Update the website with grantee project descriptions after each grant cycle.
  • Assist in authoring grant descriptions and state and project-type reports.
  • Disseminate grant award packages and QOL decals.
  • Research and update contact information for all listings (3,000+) in the QOL online searchable database. (annually)
Requirements

Required Qualifications:
  • Associate degree and 1-3 years' experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills, with attention to detail
  • Strong proofreading skills
  • Effective listening and communication skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure and manage tight deadlines and multiple responsibilities
  • Commitment to confidentiality, integrity, and ethical behavior
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and skilled at problem-solving
  • Ability to collaborate well with others and build partnerships
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Foundant proficiency
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite, Google Docs, databases, and internet research; basic website design skills


Physical Demands/Office Environment:

This primarily sedentary role includes occasional physical activity. Duties may involve moving around the office to liaise with staff, access files, and use office machinery. The role may also include setting up live events, such as exhibit booths and stages, and lifting up to 10 lbs.

Travel: 10-15% - Local, regional, or national travel for conferences, site visits, and check presentations
