The Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation is committed to advancing innovative research aimed at curing spinal cord injuries and enhancing the quality of life for individuals and families affected by paralysis. As a prominent entity in spinal cord injury (SCI) research, the Foundation has allocated $140 million to pivotal research facilities globally. Our National Paralysis Resource Center (NPRC) offers a wide array of resources, tools, and services, which include a comprehensive Quality of Life Grants Program, Peer & Family Support Program, Military and Veterans Program, Racial and Health Equity initiatives, and Advocacy efforts.

Position Summary:
We are looking for a Grants Coordinator to become a vital part of our dynamic four-member team. This position plays a crucial role in the daily administrative operations of the Quality of Life (QOL) grants program, overseeing essential components of the grant lifecycle, including: 1) Pre-Award processes, 2) Award cycle communications, and 3) Post-Award evaluation, reporting mechanisms, and processing of information to enhance program effectiveness. Key responsibilities encompass coordinating and managing the process from incoming grant requests, vetting applications, engaging with stakeholders, aiding in the preparation of application materials, facilitating award and declination communications, and assisting with grant follow-up documentation. The coordinator will also support special projects as required. The ideal candidate will reflect and uphold the Foundation's mission and core values in all interactions and responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:
People Management:

  • Process incoming grant applications through our online platform, assess eligibility, request supplementary information, and prepare application documents.
  • Ensure compliance with federal grant regulations, including grantee risk assessments.
  • Review interim reports from grantees, provide project summaries, and communicate follow-up requirements to grantees.
  • Assist in liaising with grant recipients regarding NPRC updates, grantee obligations, deadlines, etc.
  • Manage the QOL email, offering applicants program information and technical support.
  • Conduct outreach to engage applicants from underserved and unserved communities, including organizations serving diverse populations.
  • Perform site visits (local, state, and national) to current and past grant recipients.
Event Coordination:
  • Participate in and assist with NPRC-sponsored events (e.g., Reeve Summit, Advocacy Summit).
  • Contribute to internal and external workgroups as necessary.
Data Management:
  • Create spreadsheets, summaries, program reports, and presentations.
  • Assist in updating state and project-type reports.
  • Perform general data entry, validation, and updates.
Additional Duties:
  • Update the website with descriptions of grantee projects following each grant cycle.
  • Assist in drafting grant descriptions and state and project-type reports.
  • Disseminate grant award packages and QOL decals.
  • Research and update contact information for all listings in the QOL online searchable database (annually).
Qualifications:
Required:
  • Associate degree and 1-3 years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong organizational and analytical abilities, with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Excellent proofreading capabilities.
  • Effective communication and listening skills.
  • Ability to thrive under pressure and manage tight deadlines and multiple responsibilities.
  • Commitment to confidentiality, integrity, and ethical conduct.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and adept at problem-solving.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with others and foster partnerships.
Preferred:
  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Proficiency in Foundant.
  • Competence in MS Office Suite, Google Docs, databases, and internet research; basic website design skills.
Physical Demands/Office Environment:
This role is primarily sedentary but may involve occasional physical activity. Duties may include moving around the office to collaborate with staff, access files, and utilize office equipment. The role may also involve setting up live events, such as exhibit booths and stages, and lifting items up to 10 lbs.

Travel Requirements: 10-15% - Local, regional, or national travel for conferences, site visits, and presentations.
