POSITION PURPOSE

The Workday HRIS Manager is the subject matter expert (SME) for YPO's Human Resources Information System (HRIS), Workday. This position is responsible for all Workday-related activities, including administration, customization, upgrading, and maintaining Workday holistically, ensuring the system is at an optimal level at all times. The Workday HRIS Manager is a highly collaborative and consultative role, partnering and aligning with stakeholders internally and externally.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Manage and optimize YPO's Human Resources Information System (HRIS), Workday, holistically.
  • Lead the administration, configuration, and maintenance of the Workday HRIS system, ensuring data accuracy, system integrity, and compliance with company policies and regulations.
  • Assess HR processes and systems to identify areas for improvement and optimization, collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement enhancements and streamline workflows.
  • Oversee data integrity across the entire Workday system, conducting regular audits and implementing corrective actions as needed.
  • Manage and lead all Workday related projects and the creation of an ongoing system roadmap.
  • Identify and create metrics related to targets, goals, performance, and success.
  • Lead and manage other Workday focused associates, delegating suitable projects and tasks and ensuring a prominent level of performance.
  • Develop and generate customized reports and analytics to support HR and business decision-making processes.
  • Stay current with Workday updates, releases, and best practices, evaluating new features and functionalities to enhance system performance and user experience.
  • Lead system upgrades and implementations, coordinating with internal stakeholders and business partners as necessary
  • Create and provide guidance, training, and support to HR colleagues and other YPO associates on Workday system functionalities, processes, and best practices.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert and primary point of contact for Workday-related inquiries and escalations.
  • Implement controls and measures to safeguard sensitive employee information and mitigate risks.
  • Manage relationships with external vendors and consultants, overseeing service agreements, performance metrics, and deliverables to ensure alignment with business objectives and service level agreements (SLAs).

EXPERIENCE/BACKGROUND

Required:
  • Minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience with Workday HCM.
  • Minimum of 2 years leading Workday HCM projects and workstreams.
  • Proven track record of being a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Workday related activities.
  • Proven leadership experience, directly or indirectly, over multiple Workday related projects.
  • Extensive project management skills and experience, including change management.
  • A demonstrated consultative and collaborative approach.
  • Proven track record of leading at least one end-to-end Workday HCM implementation project.
  • In-depth understanding of HR processes, system configuration, and project management methodologies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, enabling effective collaboration with diverse teams and executive stakeholders.
Preferred:
  • Workday Certifications: HCM Core or Performance and Talent or Recruiting or Reporting
  • Experience working in a global environment.
  • Knowledge of and proven experience using the Agile methodology.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Ability to work Eastern Time or Central Time Preferred:
  • Ability to work flexible and/or extended hours as needed to accommodate members and team members in multiple time zones.
  • Ability to work for extended hours at a computer screen.
  • Willingness and ability to travel, domestically and internationally, without restrictions, approximately 5% per year.
