Medical Laboratory Technologist Academic Program Director About The Job Fortis College in BATON ROUGE, LOUISIANA is seeking a highly experienced Medical Laboratory Technologist to manage its Medical Laboratory Technologist education program. If you are a current, experienced Medical Laboratory Technologist with a teaching background or, an experienced Medical Laboratory Technologist program director, this is an opportunity for you to positively impact the lives and careers of our students and graduates. Job Description The program director is the first-line administrator within the program area responsible for the planning, organization, implementation, coordination, supervision, and evaluation of all instruction and related program management activities. The program director is responsible for the administrative duties required to manage the program which includes faculty training and supervision, curriculum and instructional delivery management, student progress and outcome monitoring, as well as institutional and programmatic accreditation management. Teaching duties will also be expected of the program director as well as systematic off-campus travel to the affiliated externship sites to conduct student assessments as well as maintaining relations with those externship site management teams. Requirements A current résumé indicating a minimum of five (5) years of recent Medical Laboratory experience or five (5) years recent experience as an instructor in Medical Laboratory Technology , or a combination of both, within the past ten (10) years. Minimum of three years of teaching experience. Proof of an earned Master's or Doctoral degree. Holds ASCP-BOC or ASCP-BOC generalist certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist/Medical Technologist. Knowledge of education methods and administration as well as current NAACLS accreditation procedures and certification procedures. Documentation indicating proficiency in instructional methodology, curriculum design, and program planning. Must include at least one of the following: Documentation of previous teaching experience [medical laboratory technology-related] that includes responsibilities for instructional methodology, curriculum design, and/or program planning. Documentation of formal coursework in instructional methodology, curriculum design, and/or program planning.
