Overview

We are seeking a full-time Aviation Systems Engineer 2 at our office in Olathe, Kansas, to develop innovative solutions that delight our customers across aviation market segments. Working in close collaboration with Garmin Aviation leadership, you will apply your business and technical skills to create superior systems, products, services, and lead cross-functional teams to bring these to market. Essential Functions
  • Lead development of complex systems, products, and services
  • Perform technical market research on emerging technologies and competitive avionics solutions
  • Define and maintain system architectures and requirements
  • Understand and communicate customer expectations across aviation markets
  • Mature product/feature concepts and manage roadmaps through periodic reviews with leadership
  • Plan and execute integration testing to validate user experience and verify system requirements
  • Proactively improve processes, tools, and procedures
  • Exemplify Garmin's Mission, Vision, Values, and Quality Policy and proactively work to improve Garmin's image and culture
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or another relevant technical field AND a minimum of 1 year relevant experience OR an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Excellent academics (cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.0 as a general rule)
  • Demonstrated advanced knowledge in one or more of the following technical areas: Systems Integration, System Safety, System Requirements, Systems Security
  • Demonstrated problem solving ability
Desired Qualifications
  • Master's Degree in an Engineering field
  • Outstanding academics (cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.5)
  • Demonstrated passion for and involvement in the aviation community
  • Operational knowledge of Garmin or competitive avionics
