The Grants Contracts Manager manages the government and foundation grants for the organization, including budgeting, reporting, billing, collections and compliance in accordance with the contracts. The role also involves advising Program teams on complex grant matters, including in-depth financial analysis and recommendations to manage program spending and financial sustainability reporting to the CFO.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversight of federal and local grants administration, including budget setup, monitoring and compliance, billing and payment collections.
  • Ensure compliance with accepted accounting conventions with government and funders guidelines, as well as agency adopted financial policies and procedures.
  • Prepare program level budgets and budget narratives to be submitted to government and other agencies as part of the Request for Proposal process, and attend budget planning meetings.
  • Meet reporting requirements of external government and non-government agencies, as well as internal management to assist in making timely and effective decisions.
  • Manage personnel expenses allocation to different grants
  • Lead a team of two accountants to ensure timely submission of billings and budget modifications, and timely collection of grant payments.
  • Ensure timely reporting on grant payment receipts and perform monthly grant revenue reconciliation.
  • Provide monthly financial reports to Program teams and meet in-person every quarter to discuss budget performance and concerns

EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field. 7+ years of progressive accounting experiences, with 3 years plus in nonprofit or government accounting. 2 years' plus supervisory experience. Knowledge of Uniform Guidance is a plus. Ability to multi task and work in a fast paced environment while constantly maintaining a friendly and positive attitude. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Must be timeline driven and meet all external and internal deadlines.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Excellent analytical skills for evaluating contract-related documents, including but not limited to budgets, reports and invoices.

High organized and detail oriented, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast paced environment.

Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work in a diverse and inclusive organization.

Knowledge of GAAP rules, regulations, policies and procedures.

Knowledge of grant budgeting and compliance.
