Revenue Cycle Systems Trainer

Job Code: 29028

Position Summary

Provides support, workflow implementation and training to providers, leaders, and staff in revenue integrity, charge capture functions and/or documentation and requirements for professional services coding. In coordination with Epic training, provides training virtually, in-person 'at the elbow', and in the classroom setting using lesson plans and web based tools.

Responsibilities
•Writes, revises and maintains customized training materials
•Analyzes the requirements of clinical workflows to ensure compliance standards are met
•Responsible for root cause analysis along with end user audits
•Actively participates in organization-wide process improvement initiatives
•Analyzes the requirements of workflows to most effectively implement electronic health records software
•Provides performance feedback directly to staff and leadership
•Works under limited supervision
•Performs other related duties as assigned
•Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the field
•Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
•Regular and predictable attendance is an essential job function
•Competent to meet age specific needs of the unit assigned

Requirements and Minimum Qualifications
•Bachelor's degree in related field required; 4 years' related experience with mandatory completion of CPMA within 1 year of hire may be accepted in lieu of degree
•Coding certification from; AAPC or AHIMA in addition to education requirement
•Minimum 5 years' relevant experience in health care setting required in addition to education requirement
•Excellent written and oral communication skills, as well as effective human relation skills for building and maintaining a working relationship with all levels of staff, physicians, and other contacts
•Effective presentation and analytical skills and the confidence to present to small and large groups of clinical staff, providers, and leaders
•Understanding of CMS regulatory requirements governing hospital and professional charge and coding required
•Recent professional experience working in an Epic or similar EMR with equivalent applications
•Demonstrated familiarity to work in and navigate through a patient medical record
•Previous process improvement experience preferred
