Duties:


  • Supports the billing specialists under the Patient Access Manager.
  • Completes HEDIS and RAC audits.
  • Coordinates MIPS reporting with clinical team.
  • Works on revenue and charge capture.
  • Manages Appeals
  • Serves as support to assure patients billing is without error.
  • Audits claims daily for errors, potential lost revenue, and issues that could predict billing delays.
  • Communicates billing errors that require corrective measures with appropriate staff and supervisors.
  • Liaison between billing systems/software and Beacon team for billing delays and AR queries that need corrective actions.
  • Ensures that routine and priority tasks are completed within established departmental time frames.
  • Assesses accounts for completeness and accuracy.
  • Uses online web portals efficiently to obtain claim details
  • Resolves inbox tasks within the week.
  • Reviews and work AR bucket on a weekly basis.
  • Final review of all accounts in preparation of sending a patient to collection.
  • Works on special projects assigned by CFO and Patient Access Manager.
  • Works with patient access manager to create better processes for billing submissions.
  • Demonstrates responsibility for ongoing personal development, professional growth, and continuing education.
  • Performs duties in a self-directed manner with minimal supervision or direction.


Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Compassionate and caring bedside manner.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to balance competing priorities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication.
  • Significant Coding and Billing experience required.


Preferred Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in Medical Billing.
  • Certified Coding Specialist or Certified Outpatient Coder required.
  • Medical office experience strongly preferred.

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
