Job Summary

Beacon Clinic is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Medical Billing and Coding Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our revenue cycle team, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely billing and coding practices, as well as providing leadership and guidance to our billing specialists.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Guidance: Provide guidance and support to billing specialists to ensure accurate and timely billing and coding practices.
  • Billing and Coding: Ensure accurate and timely billing and coding practices, including completion of HEDIS and RAC audits, coordination of MIPS reporting, and management of appeals.
  • Revenue and Charge Capture: Work on revenue and charge capture, including audits of claims for errors, potential lost revenue, and issues that could predict billing delays.
  • Communication: Communicate billing errors that require corrective measures with appropriate staff and supervisors, and liaison between billing systems/software and Beacon team for billing delays and AR queries.
  • Process Improvement: Ensure that routine and priority tasks are completed within established departmental time frames, and assess accounts for completeness and accuracy.
  • Special Projects: Work on special projects assigned by CFO and Patient Access Manager, and collaborate with patient access manager to create better processes for billing submissions.
Requirements
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years experience in Medical Billing, with significant coding and billing experience required.
  • Certifications: Certified Coding Specialist or Certified Outpatient Coder required.
  • Education: High School Diploma.
  • Skills: Compassionate and caring bedside manner, excellent attention to detail, strong written and verbal communication, and ability to balance competing priorities.
