Idaho Asphalt Supply, Inc. (IAS) is a leading asphalt supplier and marketer in the inland Northwest and Pacific Northwest Regions. With plants in Idaho, Utah, Wyoming, Montana, Oregon, California, and Arizona, IAS supplies the road maintenance and construction industry with a diverse product line of asphalt, polymer-modified asphalt, and asphalt emulsions.

IAS is seeking to hire an SAP S4/HANA Manager who will directly report to the VP of Strategic Transformation and will be responsible for guiding and supporting our SAP S/4HANA Cloud ERP and related solutions. The candidate should be energized and a flexible self-starter to fill this full-time opening that will be located in the Coeur d’Alene, ID office. This position does have the possibility to be hybrid or remote. Travel to IAS plant locations may be required.

Position Summary

The SAP S4/HANA Manager is a subject matter expert in implementing, supporting, growing, and innovating SAP S/4HANA and related systems used internally and externally. Responsibilities include project management, administration and provisioning for projects and repositories, implementation of new functionalities, operations and support, process improvement, and research and development to ensure continual innovation of the platform and predictable operations. When solutions are on-premises, the SAP S4/HANA Manager role will be very similar, though the product being supported may be operated internally or may not be a SaaS product, though the functions of the role are, for the most part, the same.

The ideal candidate will be passionate about tackling complex problems, developing solutions that best meet requirements, adding value to the business, being engaging and collaborative, and thriving in a fast-paced, fun, and challenging work environment. Communication skills are also crucial for success in this role.

Position Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain expert knowledge of SAP S/4HANA and related business applications. Provide support for these business applications.
  • Lead IAS resource and PM during ERP implementation.
  • Architect, design, and conduct enhancements to the ERP system or related solutions. Utilize the SAP Business Tech Platform (BTP) to create needed workflows or enhancements.
  • Gather, document, and analyze business requirements from key stakeholders and assist in developing project plans and timelines to achieve successful implementation and/or configuration.
  • Conduct system and User Acceptance Testing of the ERP and related solutions.
  • Communicate effectively with different parts of the organization and, based on best practices and experience, make recommendations on ERP usage and configuration.
  • Understand business processes across the organization and strategically identify ways to design and map them in the ERP solution.
  • Make recommendations for process improvements or optimizations to take advantage of SAP S/4HANA best practices.
  • Coordinate and lead ERP-related projects, including managing resource allocation, tracking budgets, etc.
  • Drive activities around environment management, including communication-related to outages, downtime, access, and availability across multiple projects.
  • Ensure user license compliance and user provisioning best practices and cost reductions through optimization recommendations.
  • Provide operations and support, system maintenance, and research to ensure continual innovation and predictable operations for the solution.
  • Monitor monthly and/or quarterly release notes for impacts to IAS’ SAP S/4HANA and related systems and provide impact analysis.
  • Manage Service Requests/Tickets for the platform, including opening, monitoring, escalation, and closing.
  • Train and coach end-users or coordinate training activities across the organization.

Position Qualifications and Experience

General

  • Experience implementing, configuring, administering, and supporting SAP S/4HANA in an enterprise capacity. Experience with SAP S/4HANA Cloud and BTW preferred.
  • Understanding of enterprise-optimized software solutions across all business functional areas.
  • Experience with the manufacturing industry, process manufacturing expertise preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills and the ability to interact with diverse team members, including executives, managers, technology professionals, and subject matter experts.
  • Focus as a team player and self-starter who can work effectively within time constraints, changing priorities, and independently.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical, problem solving and organizational skills.

Technical

  • Experience in enhancement design and system issue troubleshooting.
  • Experience in system and user acceptance testing of ERP systems, customizations, and related solutions.
  • Experience in project management in SAP S/4HANA implementations
  • Experience with querying, importing, and exporting data.
  • Experience with creating and managing Reports and Dashboards.
  • Proficient in SmartSheet and Microsoft Office Suite, Including Intermediate in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • PMP certification, preferred

Required Skills

  • Expert on one or more functional components of SAP S/4HANA.
  • 3-7 years of experience in implementation, configuration, and support with the SAP S/4HANA platform
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, MIS, or equivalent technically related degree.
  • Project management expertise, including initiating, planning, executing, controlling, monitoring, and closing a project.
  • Strong skills in group facilitation, data gathering, and phases of the software life cycle (e.g., requirements gathering, design, development, deployment, training, and measuring effectiveness.).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Ability to translate stakeholder requirements into technical specifications that can be used for development and break down technical complexities so that business units and end users can easily understand them.
