The positionBy joining our team in Marketing, Midstream & Processing you will have the opportunity to:

Have in-depth knowledge of shipping markets and short-term freight rates across segments but with special focus on crude in the Americas

Develop in-house long-term freight rate modelling

Advise on short term charter party negotiation strategies based on market views

Build strong relationships with the shipping community and bringing external insights to the data

Provide market-based input to projects and decision cases where shipping is involved

Manage the shipping analysis systems that Equinor is currently subscribed to and propose consolidation or addition of systems as necessary. Ensuring that the systems are used to the full extent of their capabilities and that meaningful analysis is conducted with the data acquired. Examples of these are: Vortexa, Eikon, Signal, etc.

Manage the shipping brokers analysts, monitor the shipping news outlets, contribute to improvements (such as building bespoke models)

Generate historical information and design/develop dashboards using IMOS and PowerBI

Support the trading groups from a freight market perspective

A Bachelor’s in business, maritime business, data management, engineering or equivalent. MBA is an advantage

3-5 years relevant chartering and/or market analysis experience – preferably in freight and/or crude

Knowledge and understanding of shipping markets

Knowledge and understanding of commodity markets is a plus

Advanced analytical and modelling skills

Advanced use of digital tools including Office 365 (specially Excel, Power Point and PowerBI)

International experience and/or experience from working across cultures is an advantage

Strong relationships with the external shipping community (owners, brokers and other charterers) and the shipping market analysis providers

Fluent English (written and spoken) mandatory – Bi-lingual in Portuguese or Spanish may be
