The Internal Control Compliance Analyst is a key mid-office position supporting all groups within the organization. The analyst is accountable for reviewing and managing the organization risks associated with Sarbanes Oxley. This position will maintain solid relationships and communication between business process owners and the IT group charter. The successful senior analyst is driven to provide accurate and timely information that supports business decision making and ensures compliance with internal and external regulatory entities. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Identify control weaknesses and recommend risk mitigation strategies to proactively prevent Audit issues.
  • Participate in assessments of risk with IT, internal audit, and business process owners.
  • Evaluate internal control procedures and recommending new processes and/or controls.
  • Support, design, and develop SOX compliance tools and techniques.
  • Monitor and assess control risks during IT implementations.
  • Participate in the control remediation process with Business Process Owners.
  • Lead meetings with business and IT teams to ensure that best practices are applied to the IT environment.
  • Participate in system implementations and assist in the design of financial and IT processes, including the evaluation of IT control environment and the development of internal controls.


Requirements

Qualifications include:

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in accounting degree is required.
  • A minimum of 2 years of accounting experience. Big 4 experience preferred.
  • Internal Audit, PPA (Professional Program for Accounting) or similar type program is preferred.
  • Experience creating spreadsheets, performing basic calculations, and manipulating data in MS Excel, Alteryx, and Power BI is preferred.
  • Self-motivated, with ability to remain organized, pay attention to detail and deadlines, support multiple projects, and effectively manage a large volume of work with minimal direction and supervision.
  • Ability to work within Excel and learn other data processing software (e.g., Alteryx, PowerBI, etc.).
  • Strong impersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interface effectively with individuals at various levels including senior management and auditors.
