As part of our ongoing growth and expansion, we are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Accountant and Finance Lead to support the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's (NOAA) National Data Buoy Center (NDBC). This position is contingent upon contract award. Responsibilities: Core responsibilities of the Senior Accountant and Finance Lead will include, but are not limited to: Support all financial and accounting aspects of the NDBC Technical Support Services contract. Review project costs and report variances. Prepare/review/submit monthly invoices to the Government. Prepare detailed monthly EACs for all contract lines for customers. Monitor contract performance in relation to the proposal baseline. Serve as the primary reviewer of all billing details to ensure invoices are accurate and complete. Track Limitation of Funds for contract tasking CLINs and provide input to Contracts for submission to the Government. Perform all cost transfers and cleanup of all billing issues. Create and set-up charge codes. Ensure accrual/journal entries for monthly closing are accurate and submitted in a timely manner. Analyze and reconcile balance sheet accounts. Monitor/audit timekeeping accuracy project wide and provide feedback regarding needed corrections to the applicable Lead/Manager in a timely manner. Perform financial analysis through reporting and forecasting orders, sales, and cash flow. Support the response to internal and external inquiries for financial data (including audits). Meet regularly with the NDBC Government Financial Team. Supervision of the NDBC Accounting Specialist. Liaise with other functions/departments to understand all necessary company needs. Qualifications: The Ideal Senior Accountant and Finance Lead will have the following: Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (Master's Degree preferred). 8+ years of accounting and financial experience (Government Contract experience preferred).
