  • Process Engineering:
  • Lead P&ID and Control Narrative development for entire process
  • Troubleshoot PLC and HMI programs, instrumentation, and drives on the production lines with an analytical systems-based approach.
  • Analyze data to identify where quantifiable improvements will have the most impact in a rapidly changing manufacturing environment and manage those identified improvements
  • Identify gaps in automation deployment and work with TAMKO's Plant Systems team to implement improvements in PLC programs to drive results; report results up the chain of command.
  • Identify instrumentation needs
  • Facilitate change management and sustainment documentation such as engineering drawings, manuals, process flow diagrams, and spare parts lists.
  • Work cooperatively with a cross functional team of Engineers, Operations, and Maintenance personnel, understanding the needs of each department's primary focus.
  • Analyze operating machines and equipment for conformance with operational standards.
  • Flexible and adaptive, able to thrive in a fast-changing environment, implementing solutions rapidly without cutting corners.
  • Assume role as project manager for installation of improvement projects.
    • Write project specifications for vendor bids, including project scope development
    • Provide appropriate project justification and cost-benefit analysis as necessary for project proposals.
    • Coordinate with cross functional teams in the design, planning, installation and commissioning phases
Position Requirements:
  • 3+ years of manufacturing experience
  • Four-year Engineering degree from an accredited university
  • DCS & PLC development
  • AutoCAD
  • Technical writing
  • Ability to work with all levels of the organization
  • Comfortable developing solutions and managing assignments independently
  • Mechanical intuition - ability to understand how something works by looking at a drawing or watching it in action
  • Apply principles of mathematics, statistics, and engineering to resolve recurring process issues.
  • Empowered, self-directed individual who is capable of prioritizing workload and resources to provide the most benefit to the production process.
  • Occasional travel for technical skills training and other professional development opportunities.
Preferred Experience - Not required for application but will benefit consideration:
  • System integration of third-party equipment and programming
  • Experience with Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning applications in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience with process control and PID tuning
  • Experience in paper manufacturing or web process handling
  • DeltaV
  • Siemens Step7 and TIA Portal
  • AVEVA System Platform
  • Cognex Vision systems (Insight Explorer, Vision Pro)
  • Minitab
  • SQL Server Management Studio
  • SAP
  • Experience with VFDs

  • While performing the duties of this Job the employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. The employee must be able to operate a computer and other office equipment and must be able to traverse the office and production floors and position self to inspect production equipment.
  • While performing the duties of this Job, the employee may work around moving mechanical parts, at elevated heights, where dusts and fumes could be present in the air, with or in proximity to chemicals, in hot environments, around electrical equipment, and in a loud environment. The employee must have the ability to understand and mitigate these and other risks, including by following all prescribed safety rules, and must have the ability to wear appropriate personal protective equipment, if necessary.
