Sellers & Associates, LLC has an opening for a Technical Recruiter / HR Generalist. The ideal candidate is a motivated individual who is familiar with recruiting practices for government contracting companies, particularly supporting the Department of Defense; who is able to quickly understand position qualification requirements and the appropriate background and experience associated with candidates for a broad range of positions. In addition, the ideal candidate will also have experience performing professional level human resources work to carry out general responsibilities in one or more functional areas, such as staffing, employee relations, compensation, training, employment, labor relations, and/or affirmative action and equal opportunity programs. The Technical Recruiter / Human Resources Generalist will be responsible for:

  • Reviewing qualification requirements in a job requisition, position description, or in contract or Request for Proposal (RFP) language and source for qualified candidates.
  • Cross walking candidate requirements to position requirements.
  • Actively sourcing for candidates via resume databases used by the organization (Indeed, ClearanceJobs, LinkedIn) for qualified candidates against requirements and recommends screening to the Hiring Manager responsible for the position in question.
  • Identifying unique resources and methodologies to identify potential candidates.
  • Recommending qualified candidates to Hiring Managers for interview.
  • Screening incoming applicants' qualifications against the requirements dictated by the position description in order to deem qualification for position.
  • Conducting screens of candidates to further determine qualification for the position for which they are in contention.
  • Contacting qualified candidates who are sourced through cold calls and emails to gauge interest in open position.
  • Coordinating interview time and date with qualified candidates and Hiring Manager.
  • Ensuring that proper folders and databases are maintained to track all incoming applicants and sourced candidates as well for each position that is currently being open.
  • Tracking all candidates on a position-by-position basis with hiring trackers. Maintains log of current status of candidate (i.e., candidate has been contacted, no answer received yet, interview conducted, etc.)
  • Assisting Hiring Managers with closing open billets in a timely manner with qualified candidates.
  • Maintaining current listing and company profiles for all openings on the company website and applicant tracking system, as well as on the recruiting, websites used (e.g., Indeed, ClearanceJobs).
  • Assisting Hiring Managers with using the applicant tracking system (Deltek Talent Management).
  • Assessing personnel policies, programs, procedures, and informing employees and management personnel on the interpretation of them.
  • Assisting with employee onboarding activities.
  • Carrying out administrative work involving the human resources functions and maintaining related records.
  • Ensuring that programs are carried out in accordance with company's policies and procedures.
  • Analyzing and providing advice to supervisors and managers on methods and approaches to resolve employee work problems.
  • Conducting research to determine the effectiveness of personnel programs and policies.
  • Developing and proposing improvement to policies, programs, and procedures to improve the effectiveness of human resources and operations.
  • Providing other human resources services as needed.
Job Requirements
  • 3-5 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Experience working in Deltek Talent Management or similar Applicant Tracking System.
  • General knowledge of military ranks, commands and organizations. Knowledge of US Navy organizations is a plus.
  • Experience cold calling prospective qualified candidates.
  • Excellent communication skills, to include verbally and written.
  • Knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite (i.e., Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
  • Self-starter, able to operate independently.
  • Experience with recruiting database websites such as Indeed, ClearanceJobs, and LinkedIn.
  • Experience crosswalking candidate requirements to position requirements
  • Experience screening potential candidates against technical requirements.
  • Experience with CircaWork's outreach program promoting diversity and inclusion.
  • Experience assessing personnel / HR related policies, programs, and procedures.
  • Experience performing general professional level human resources work in on or more functional areas (staffing, employee relations, compensation, training, employment, labor relations, affirmative action and equal opportunity programs, or personnel research).
